Women in the International Film Industry: Policy, Practice and Power a cura di Susan Liddy

Prendendo spunto dalla nomina di Dr. Susan Liddy quale Presidente di WIFTI (Women in Film and Television International), ci piace segnalare il libro che ha curato nel 2020 dove ritroviamo anche un po’ di Italia.

Women in the International Film Industry: Policy, Practice and Power è una raccolta di saggi  edita da Palgrave Macmillan che esamina le industrie cinematografiche di 17 paesi con il fine di valutare la diffusione e le dimensioni della disuguaglianza di genere.

Le autrici esplorano l’assenza delle donne nei ruoli creativi più importanti e le implicazioni che questo comporta per la creazione e la scelta delle storie che vengono raccontate.

I paesi esaminati sono Austria, Germania, Polonia, Irlanda, Gran Bretagna, Danimarca, Finlandia, Norvegia, Svezia, Islanda, Italia, Portogallo, Stati Uniti, Canada e Australia.

Il capitolo dedicato all’Italia è a cura delle professoresse Bernadette Luciano (University of Auckland, Nuova Zelanda) e Susanna Scarparo (Monash University, Melbourne, Australia), che cogliamo l’occasione per salutare.
